At present, A633 Grade A specification abrasion resistant steel plate thickness is between 8-100mm, the hardness of up to 500HBW. Thin steel sheet and ultra-wide steel plate has been developed for special use.

The minimum yield point of typical low-alloy high-strength steel is 345MPa. Therefore, according to the proportional relationship of its yield point, the use of low-alloy high-strength steel allows the stress to be 1.4 times higher than that of carbon structural steel. Compared with A633 Grade A specification, carbon structural steel, the use of low-alloy high-strength steel can reduce the size of structural parts and reduce weight.

Molybdenum is a well known alloy element. Molybdenum can refine the grains of steel material, improve the hardenability and thermal strength, and maintain sufficient strength and creep resistance at high temperature. Adding molybdenum to A633 Grade A specification, structural steel can improve mechanical properties. Molybdenum can also restrain the brittleness of alloy steel caused by quenching treatment.

A633 Grade A specification, 15CrMo alloy steel is Chinese material. It is characterized by high Chrome and Molybdenum contents. The 15CrMo alloy steel chrome content is 0.80-1.10, and molybdenum content is 0.40-0.55. Besides, 15CrMo carbon content is 0.12-0.18, silicon content is 0.17-0.37, manganese content is 0.40-0.70. The heating temperatures for quenching and tempering of 15CrMo alloy steel are 900 and 650 centigrade respectively. The yield point of 15CrMo alloy steel is 295Mpa.
