SA573 structural carbon steel Grade 58 for oil transportation project

Q235 steel grades cover Q235A, Q235B, Q235C and Q235D. Other than Q235A, the other three Q235 steel grades needs impact test. Charpy V-notch specimen is used for impact toughness test. The impact toughness index is Akv. Q235 steel plates are widely used because of its moderate carbon content, good comprehensive performance, good coordination of strength, plasticity and welding performance.

No. 45 steel is commonly used medium carbon quenched and tempered structural steel. The cold plasticity of No. 45 steel is generally better than SA573 structural carbon steel Grade 58. Annealing and normalizing are better than quenching and tempering. No. 45 steel has higher strength and better machinability than Q345 steel. After proper heat treatment, it can obtain certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance. No. 45 steel SA573 structural carbon steel Grade 58 is suitable for hydrogen welding and argon arc welding, but not suitable for gas welding. Preheating is required before welding, and stress relief annealing shall be conducted after welding.
