The A633 Grade E high strength structural steel elongation analysis

One person familiar with the situation said Germany's ailing ThyssenKrupp Group was in talks with its international counterparts to merge its loss making A633 Grade E high strength structural steel steel business. The talks will be announced Monday as part of a strategic reform that could include closing or selling assets. Previously, ThyssenKrupp steel Europe, Germany's largest steelmaker, announced a loss in the first half of the group three point seven two 100 million euros four point zero two Billion US dollars). ThyssenKrupp has continued to advocate the benefits of A633 Grade E high strength structural steel steel integration since it abandoned its joint venture with Tata Steel a year ago to sell its precious elevator division.

"The production method of seamless steel pipe can be roughly divided into cross rolling method (menesmann method) and extrusion method. The cross rolling method (menesmann method) is to pierce the tube blank with the cross roll first, and then extend it with the rolling mill. This method is fast in production, but requires high machinability of tube blank. It is mainly suitable for producing carbon steel and low alloy steel tube, A633 Grade E high strength structural steel tube.The extrusion method is to pierce the billet or ingot with a piercer, and then extrude it into a steel tube with an extruder. This method is less efficient than the cross rolling method and is suitable for the production of high-strength alloy steel tubes."

There are a lot of ASTM standards for pressure vessel steel plates. Such as ASTM A204, A285, A302, A387, A515, A516, A517, A537, A612, A841, etc. Those ASTM steel plates have different thickness ranges. A633 Grade E high strength structural steel, ASTM A204 plates shall not thicker than 150mm. ASTM A285 plates shall not thicker than 50mm. ASTM A515 plates shall not thicker than 200mm. ASTM A517 plates and A537 plates shall not thicker than 150mm. ASTM A612 plates shall not thicker than 25mm. ASTM A841 plates shall not thicker than 100mm.
