ASTM A633 Grade D steel is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel(HSLA) plates when superior notch toughness is needed at low temperatures. A633Gr.D steel is available up to 4" in thickness and A633 Grade E is available up to 6" in thickness. Typical applications are utility poles as plates, offshore platforms, construction equipment frames, electric shovel dipper handles and suspension components.
A633Gr.D plates are hot rolled or normalizing structural steels.
